# Backup and leaving

Qixoo has no lock-in. Your site never moves, and you can download everything Qixoo
holds at any time.

## Downloading a backup

Dashboard → the site card → **Backup**. You get a ZIP containing:

- `blocks.json` — every text, image and link edit you made, keyed by the element it
  applies to.
- `site.html` — **AI Site Builder sites only:** the complete page with your edits and
photos already baked in. It opens directly in any browser, fully offline, with no
  connection to Qixoo.
- `uploads/` — every image you uploaded, as optimized WebP.
- `README.md` — plain-language instructions for your specific case.

Backup download is available from the Personal plan up.

## Two kinds of site, two meanings of "backup"

If the site was made with the **AI Site Builder**, Qixoo generated and hosts the whole
page, so `site.html` in the ZIP genuinely is your complete site.

If it is **your own site connected with the one-line script**, your HTML, CSS and JS
were never ours — they live on your hosting. The ZIP therefore covers everything Qixoo
holds, which is your edits and your images, and the README explains how to reassemble
those onto your own HTML.

## Client backups

Agency operators can optionally allow a client login to download their own site's
backup. The toggle is on the site card.

## If you stop paying

The site stays online with every saved edit intact — visitors see the current
content. Only editing pauses until a plan is active again. Nothing is deleted and
nothing has to be migrated back. A lapsed paid plan drops to Free automatically and
any extra sites become read-only.

## Deleting everything

Settings → **Export my data** exports everything. Settings → **Delete account**
removes everything permanently; it is irreversible and a confirmation email is sent.
